About William

Aquanauts Dive Adventures is owned and operated by William Martin Avila.
A recreational diver since he was sixteen years old, William started his career as a commercial diver in 1989. He has spent eighteen years exploring the dive sites of the Riviera Maya from as far south as Belize to as far north as the mixing of the Caribbean waters with the Gulf of Mexico. An instructor with PADI since 1998, he has helped people from all over the word learn the sport of Scuba Diving. His dedication to his students, making sure each one has the skills and knowledge to safely participate in diving, has created a loyal following of students. His commitment to customer service and client satisfaction has helped to enrich the vacations of thousands of visitors.
Certified as a Master Scuba Diver Trainer and tireless student, William has earned certification to teach all major PADI certifications up to Assistant Instructor and numerous specialty courses including Underwater Photographer, Wreck Diver, Night Diver, Drift Diver, Deep Diver, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Underwater Naturalist, and Cavern Diver.
For personal enjoyment, William has become full cave certified and has participated in archaeological Cenote explorations. Also involved in technical and nitrox diving, William still enjoys the hunt of commercial diving for his evening meal.
